CHRISTMAS ANGEL
(6 January, 1992)

by Lauren Cooper
(1964 - 1999)

Now that you've spread your wings
For all eternity
I pray you will enjoy
Your new-found liberty:
That, roaming now as you could not before,
You'll sing with the joy of coming spring with the angels at
heaven's door.

And now that your spirit is free of your body's chains,
Leave the gift of hope and peace in the hearts of those who now feel pain.
Leave the memory of the way you took wing
To join the Christmas angels, free from sting;

Christmas, if not before, is now truly blessed -
Fly safely, freely, in contented happiness.
